The Broan Allure QS136SS Hood is a 36" stainless steel range hood that is more quiet than most other range hoods. It works on two speeds, normal and high, and works silently on normal settings. The high fan speed is likewise more quiet than other range hoods. It has 4-way convertibility and weighs only 25 pounds.

The charcoal filters will change its colors to indicate that you need to change or clean the filters. The unit uses halogen lamps that are very bright and perfect for the cook with bad eye sight. The bulbs though have to be bought separately. The lights have two settings, both are bright enough on either setting.

The 2-speed contour rocker switch is HVI2100 certified. The unit does not use a duct system and includes a 3-1/4 inch by 10 inch damper. It looks slim, sleek and elegant and will perfectly complement a sophisticated looking kitchen. It is durable and made of baked-on polyester finish paint or brushed stainless steel finish.

Pros

One buyer said that the Broan Allure QS136SS Hood he bought arrived in the mail immediately and he was able to install it himself sooner after receiving it. According to this buyer, the unit is very easy to install because it is ductless. He also noticed that the fan was so quiet, he thought the unit was broken and not working.

Another feature that most people love about this range hood is the bright lights. It is bright enough even when switched to low. When it is high, even people with bad eyesight can see what they are cooking at night, even when all the other lights in the kitchen are turned off.

Cons

A review said that some users noted that a lot of steam goes into the light openings or floats outside the unit instead of going into the filter. Another buyer also could not install his Broan Allure QS136SS Range Hood when he got it in the mail because the parts were incomplete. He also said that it would take more knowledge to install it yourself.

A person who bought the range hood said that the plastic fan looks cheap and expects it to not last long. He also said he suspects it will eventually produce noise once the blade deteriorates in quality. Many users mentioned about steam going into the lighting system instead of being sucked in where it is supposed to go.

The Allure is an affordable range hood but looks very classy and sophisticated. It is slim and won't take up too much space above your stove. Other more expensive hoods are huge and bulky looking. The filters are easy to clean and you will know when you need to replace them because the color changes. The lighting system is one of its fine points and most popular feature. For something that costs about $160, it is well worth the purchase. It works quietly, efficiently and looks great above a nice stove.
